About KPSC (KARNATAKA Public Service Commission)
Karnataka public service commission (KPSC) was established under the constitution of India on 18th may 1951. The commission is represented by a chairman and nine members carrying their duties under the regulation of the Article 318 of the Indian constitution. The head office of KPSC is located in Bangalore and has four regional offices that are headed by an assistant secretary at each center.
The main function carried out by KPSC is to conduct examinations and recruitment to make appointments to different services of the state. The selections to different categories of posts are based either on interview, competitive examination or both as per the rules and regulations passed on by the Karnataka governor in accordance to the Article 309 of the Indian constitution.
KPSC follows the general recruitment rules for direct recruitment of all posts falling in Group A, Group B, Group C and Group D that are filled by conducting the competitive examination followed by interview. As per the KPSC rules candidates should have qualified the kannada language examination or equivalent qualification as per indicated in their directives eligible for the services.
