Age Limit : 20 - 25 years (27 years for Ph.D. candidates)
Pay Scale and other allowance: Rs. 15600 to 39100 along with other allowances like Grade Pay, DA, Military Service Pay, Kit maintenance allowance, transport allowance etc. In addition to these they are entitled to 50 lakh insurance while in service.
Educational Qualifications: Post Graduation in any Science stream / Mathematics / Statistics / Geography / Computer Applications / Environmental Science / Applied Physics / Oceanography / Meteorology / Agricultural Meteorology / Ecology & Environmental / Geo-physics / Environmental Biology.

The IAFs selection process will be in 2 stages. Stage-1 is intelligence test along with other tests document verification etc. Those who qualify in stage-1 will be called for stage-2 in which Psychological test, Group discussion test and interview are conducted.
