Central Teacher Eligibility Test – FEB 2014 


CBSE CTET 2013 Employment NewsCentral Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi released notification for Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) - Feb 2014. The persons qualified in CTET 2014 will be eligible for appointment as a teacher from Class I to Class VIII. A detailed notification for CTET-FEB 2014 can be found in Employment News Today, www.cbse.nic.in and www.ctet.nic.in. The last to register for this test through CBSE / CTET websites is 31st October, 2013 and the test will be conducted on 16th February, 2014.

What is CTET?


Central Teacher Eligibility Test is an examination conducted every year by CBSE, Delhi, which will be a suitability and qualification for candidates to be appointed as teachers from class 1 t class VIII. The CTET score is required to be appointed in Central government schools like Kendriya Vidhyalas, Navodaya Schools and Tibetan SchoolsSchools under administrative control of Union Territories also follow CTET score. In addition any state government does conduct a separate Teacher Eligibility Test it may follow CTET as an eligibility for schools under it’s control. But one thing should be remembered that mere qualifying CTET 201 will not entitle you a teacher post.  

Eligibility for CBSE CTET FEB 2014

Senior Secondary passed with no less than 50% marks + 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (Passed or appearing final year)
Senior Secondary passed with no less than 45% marks + 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (NCTE) (Passed or appearing final year)
Senior Secondary passed with no less than 50% marks + 4 year B.El.Ed (Passed or appearing final year)
Senior Secondary passed with not less than 50% marks + 2 year Diploma in Special Education (Passed or appearing final year)
Graduation + 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (Passed or appearing final year)

Those who wish to be teacher from class VI to Class VIII should be…..
Graduation passed + 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (Passed or appearing for final year)
Graduation passed with no less than 50% marks + 1 year B.Ed. (Passed or appearing)
Graduation passed with no less than 45% marks (NCTE) + 1 year B.Ed. (Passed or appearing)
Senior Secondary passed with no less than 50% marks + 4 year B.El.Ed. (Passed or appearing for final year)
Senior Secondary passed with no less than 50% marks + 4-year B.A / B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed / B.Sc.Ed. (Passed or appearing final year)
Graduation passed with no less than 50% marks + 1 year B.Ed. (Special Education) (Passed or appearing)

CTET FEB 2014 Examination Pattern

There will two papers in Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2014. Paper-1 will be for candidates who wish to be teachers from class I to Class V and Paper-2 for those who wish to be teachers for students from Class VI to Class VIII. Both the question papers are objective type with multiple type answers. The CTET 2014 examination does not carry any negative marking system. Examination Fee for CBSE CTET 2014

Fee to write CTET-FEB 2014 is Rs. 500/- for general and OBC category for a single paper. For reserved categories like SC, ST and PWD the fee will be Rs. 250/-. However if a candidate wishes to attend both Papers (Primary and Elementary) the he has to pay Rs. 800/- in case of General / OBC and Rs.400/- in case of SC, ST and PWD.

How to apply for CTET – FEB 2014?

Candidate after satisfying himself can register for CTET test in any of the websites www.ctet.nic.in or www.cbse.nic.in. The last date to submit online application for Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2014 is 31st October, 2013. After completion of online application the candidate requires to take a print out of System generated confirmation page and send the same along with required copies of documents and original CTET 2014 Fee payment challan / Bank Draft / Post office challan to “THE ASSISTANT SECRETARY (CTET), CENTRAL BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION, PS 1-2, INSTITUTIONAL AREA, I P EXTENSION, PATPARGANJ, DELHI – 110092” so as to reach latest by 22nd April, 2013. Last date for reaching confirmation page: 7th November, 2013 
Paper-1 date of Examination 16th February, 2014 from 14:00 hrs to 16:30 hrs
Paper-2 date of Examination 16th February, 2014 from 9:30 hrs to 12:00 hrs
