In
America entrance test for law schools is conducted by the “Law School of Admission Council” and is now introduced in our
country also to conduct the common entrance test for law college admissions in
India. The “Law School of Admission Test-India”
(LSAT-India) is now conducting this
entrance test. Based on the scores in this test, one can get admission in the
bachelor’s and postgraduate courses of law colleges in our country. Right now 20 top institutions like IIT Kharagpur,
Jindal Law School and UPES have recognized LSAT score as a basis for offering
admission in their institutions.
The
top law universities in our country are conducting CLAT as entrance test for
admissions. But those colleges which are not affiliated to these law
universities are considering LSAT India score for admissions into their
colleges. However the LSAT conducted in America and Canada doesn’t have any
resemblance to LSAT India test conducted for Indian law schools. Only admission
into Indian law colleges is possible through this LSAT India entrance test.

LSAT-India
paper is a pencil based test. The entrance exam is conducted for 2 hours 35 minutes
(including 15 minutes leisure). There shall be objective questions with
multiple choice answers. There will be total four sections, where two sections
shall have logical reasoning questions and the other sections comprises analytical
reasoning and comprehension questions. Time for each section is 35 minutes and there
shall be 15 minutes leisure before attempting the 2 and 3 sections.
There
is no negative marking in the entrance test and scores in the test are used for
initial screening of candidates by the institutions. The admission shall be
granted based on the other required qualifications for the courses offered by
