How to Prepare for NDA and Naval Academy Exam 2014?

NDA exam preparation tips by Employment News TodayBefore prepare for NDA it is necessary to understand the selection process and examination pattern of National Defence Examination 2013. The selection of NDA & NA is done through 3 stages i.e. written examination, Interview and Medical Examination. To succeed in this exam conducted by UPSC and get admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 132nd Course and to the 94th Indian Naval Academy Course one has to pass through all these three stages. So let us know the first stage Written Exam.

Mathematics: The National Defence Academy mathematics (paper I) examination is conducted for 300 marks in 2 ½ hours time duration. To get best marks in this paper, one should have thorough understanding on the basic concepts of the subject as questions are asked from all topics in the syllabus. All questions are concept based. If one can have grip on formulas then they can easily attempt more questions without wasting time.

General ability: This NDA examination is conducted for 600 marks with a time duration of 2 ½ hours. This paper contains part A and part B sections.

English: In part A English paper is for 200 marks. In this section questions are framed to test whether the candidate has basic understanding of the language. Questions come from vocabulary, English usage, reading comprehension and cohesion. By reading short stories, parts of speech, learning tenses one can easily answer all questions like correction of sentences, antonyms and synonyms.

General knowledge: Part B in the general ability paper is aimed to test the general knowledge of the candidate. This paper has 400 marks. Questions from physics, chemistry, general sciences, history, geography and current affairs are given. Students from intermediate MPC can easily answer these questions. However students from Arts group need to put in their efforts in maths, physics and chemistry to write this exam well. For the current affairs, one should check out the different issues that have happened across the country and the world for the last one year till the exam date.
