NDA: The Indian government has formed National Defence Academy six decades back in Pune, Maharashtra to train the soldiers for armed forces of air force, navy and army that protects the security of the country. From then onwards NDA has been giving well trained soldiers to the Indian army forces. NDA and NA are considered as the best path to join in security forces of the country. This is the reason why this exam is being conducted by the UPSC. In India this is the only examination which is a combination of education, training and job.
What is the Selection process of NDA & Naval Academy?
Selection of NDA is done in three phases.
Stage 1: Written test. This contains mathematics questions for 300 marks and general ability for test for 600 marks.
Stage 2: Interview (Intelligence and Personality Test) for 900 marks.
Stage 3: Medical Examination.
Written test: The NDA written test is conducted in English medium in objective type. There is negative marking for wrong answers. Those qualified in the written exam are eligible for the interview. Those who are qualified in interview are sent for the medical examination. Candidates who have qualified in the fitness test are than selected to join the course.
National Defence Academy Eligibility criteria:
Army wing: Pass out with any intermediate group.
Air force, navy and naval academy: Pass out of intermediate with maths and physics
Age limit: 16 to 19 years
Only unmarried male candidates are eligible. They should meet the physical parameters set by the board.
NDA Notification release: Every year in April and October
Examination conducted: April and August
Examination centers in the state: Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Tirupathi
