Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2014) notification has been released on July 15th. Based on this score admissions shall be offered in reputed educational institutes at the national level for post graduate programs in engineering, architecture and pharmacy courses. Similarly this GMAT score is being taken as a standard in the recruitment of jobs for government organizations like BAARC, BHEL, IOC, NTPC and Power Grid of India along with the private sectors in the recruitment of their employees.
Along with the Indian Institute of Sciences GATE is being jointly conducted by the other seven IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorke) in the country. This time GATE is going to be conducted only as an online examination (computer based test). For the 21 papers the examinations shall be conducted in-between the 2014 February 1st to March 2nd on the Saturdays and Sundays. The examinations shall be held in the morning and afternoon. This time the gate examination is being supervised by the IIT Kharagpur. So in-between 2013 September 2nd to October 3rd one should finish their registration process online. Those who have done engineering, technology, architecture and pharmacy (four years bachelors’ degree) are eligible for the test. Candidates who are doing their final year of post graduation courses in science, maths, statistics and computer applications are also eligible. Candidates doing their fourth or fifth year integrated/dual degree program, five years integrated M.Sc. /B Sc, M Sc final year students can also apply for gate examination.For full details, check out the website.
