Staff Selection Commission is the largest recruiting agency in India, that conducts its examinations in a routine manner through regional directorates situated at various locations in the country. It is entrusted with the responsibility of recruiting non-gazetted staff in various ministries and departments of Government of India.

The departments in which one can enter through SSC recruitment includes Jr. Accountants, Upper Division Clerks, Divisional Accountants, Inspectors of Income Tax/Central Excise, Sub Inspectors in Central Police Organizations including CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, SSB and the CBI.
