Then the prestigious Common Wealth Scholarship is ready to offer you all the facilities. This scholarship assists you to undertake PG or Ph.D. in New Zealand. Higher Education section of Indian Central Government HRD department is inviting applications from eligible candidates to prosecute higher studies in New Zealand.
Total number of scholarships: 2, out of which 1 is for Ph.D. and 1 for PG.
Subjects: Environmental Studies, Agriculture and Fisheries.
Academic qualifications: Bachelor or Master’s Degree with 65% of marks in the relevant subject.
Age: Should not have complete 40 years by 31st July 2014.
Completed applications with full details should be submitted in the prescribed format to MHRDC.
In the event of your selection, all the expenses for to and pro travel and the entire expenses for completing the course will be borne by them. Expenses incurred for getting VISA will be reimbursed. Tuition Fee and expenses for completing the course will also be borne by them and they are parts of the scholarship. 1500 New Zealand dollars will be sanctioned as Post Graduate Research Allowance. Health and Travel insurance charges will also be paid. Soon after arriving in New Zealand, 3000 New Zealand dollars will be paid for purchase of books and for miscellaneous expenses. 1000 New Zealand dollars will be paid at the beginning of every academic year. For maintenance and for purchase of essentials, 415 New Zealand dollars will be paid every week.
Research can be undertaken for 3 years for Ph.D. In case of need, it can be extended by one more year. Depending on the merit and behaviour of the candidate, the period of research can be further extended.
Essential qualifications for applying:
* Should possess the standards prescribed by New Zealand AID.
* Should be Indian citizens and should reside in India during the last two years.
* Should not be a citizen of New Zealand. Should not marry that country’s citizen.
* In case selected, should be prepared to join the course in New Zealand by February 2015.
* Should have submitted the application to the New Zealand University by now and should
enclose the offer letter of the University to the application.
* Those, who have already completed Ph.D. are not eligible for this scholarship.
